What this is

PureAnalyt is an HPLC simulator built on a real physics model. It is free, it asks for no signup and it carries no advertising. I maintain it, José Rafael Santos Saldivar, a chemical engineer, and it grew out of my master's degree in chemistry education, from the idea that a student should be able to learn method development even when their university cannot afford to dedicate a chromatograph to teaching.

How the donations are used

This is not a general tip jar. The money goes to specific things, in this order of priority:

1. Expanding the catalogue with verified data

There are currently 210 analytes and 50 columns. Many parameters come from published literature and some are estimates. Growing the catalogue and, above all, verifying the existing data against primary sources, is slow work and it is what most improves the fidelity of the simulator for everyone.

2. Quantitation with calibration curves

Building a curve, calculating concentrations from peak areas and assessing linearity, limits of detection and quantitation. It is the step still missing for a complete analytical workflow.

3. Method transfer and scaling

Moving a method from HPLC to UHPLC while preserving the separation, with the geometric and gradient scaling worked out.

4. Fitting to your own experimental data

Entering your own measured retention times and having the model calibrate against them, so that predictions match your particular instrument and column.

5. Maintenance

Domain, infrastructure and the hours spent fixing what breaks. Right now hosting fits inside Cloudflare's free tier, so this is the smallest item, and I would rather say so than inflate it.

Commitment

  • No advertising. No banners, no commercial trackers, no data sold. The tool sends none of your work to a server: the whole simulation runs in your browser.

What you should know before giving

I want this to be unambiguous, because it is the honest thing to do:

  • PureAnalyt is a personal project, not a nonprofit or a registered charity.
  • Your contribution is therefore not tax deductible and does not generate a tax receipt.
  • It is voluntary support, not the purchase of a product or a service, and it grants no support, features or priority.
  • The payment is received by José Rafael Santos Saldivar through PayPal, under that platform's terms and fees.

Other ways to help, worth as much or more

If you cannot or would rather not give money, some things help just as much and cost nothing:

  • Tell me what is broken. The two best physics fixes of this year came from users who took the trouble to write. If something does not behave the way you would expect, write to contacto@pureanalyt.com.
  • Use it in class and tell me what it is missing to be genuinely useful to you.
  • Link to it from your course material, or share it with someone learning chromatography.
